Gary Shulman, Ph.D., is a Professor
in the Speech Communication area and Chair of
the Department of Communication. He received his
doctoral degree in 1976 and his and Master's degree
in 1973 from Purdue University, with specialties
in organizational and interpersonal communication.
His Bachelor's degree in economics was earned
at Hunter College, City University of New York.
He has received recognition for his publication
and teaching efforts from numerous professional
associations and universities. For example, he
was the recipient of the prestigious annual Speech
Communication Association Golden Anniversary Publication
Award, the Lilly Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellowship,
and the Central States Communication Association
Outstanding Teacher Award. His research interests
include leadership and culture in organizations
and classrooms, organizational assessment, and
preparing for and coping with organizational change.
Gary has also served as a communication consultant
to both profit and non-profit organizations. Shulman's
research has appeared in journals such as Journal
of Management Education, Communication Education,
Journal on Excellence in College Teaching, the
International Journal of Public Administration
and Speech Monographs. |
