Fofi Constantinidou, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa; M.S. and Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University and the University of Cincinnati respectively.

Fofi Constantinidou joined the Speech Pathology and Audiology department in 1995 and has taught courses in adult neurological language (SPA 621, SPA 225) and cognitive disorders (SPA 671), motor speech (SPA 629) and research methods (SPA 662).  Her clinical teaching in the MU Speech and Hearing Clinic also relates to the above topics.  She has served as the SPA Graduate Director since 1997.

Constantinidou’s research is in neurological disorders like brain injury and stroke and their effects on cognitive abilities, in particular learning and memory. Currently, she is the principal investigator in a clinical trails project to determine the effectiveness of cognitive rehabilitation following brain trauma. She involves undergraduate and graduate students in her research at the NeuroCognitive Disorders Lab.
