Approval of Minutes:
Motion was made to accept minutes as revised. (Bergen, Wolfe), Passed unanimously. Chose Tuesday, November 19th at 12:30p.m. as next meeting time.
Update on Projects, New and Ongoing:
Wolfe noted he ran a pilot for his latest project, "Improving the Comprehension and Construction of Arguments", and should be able to begin collecting data the week of October 21st.
Bergen indicated that her Fisher-Price rescue hero project is nearing its end.
Connection with Child Development Center (Mini University):
A discussion was held regarding whether the CHDLT should pursue a formal relationship with the Child Development Center (Mini University).
Bergen reported that a number of faculty, including herself, have been invited to join their advisory board.
Wolfe indicated that CHDLT members could provide advice on practices and help set up involvement in student research if there was a more formal relationship. Bergen will attend Mini University advisory board meeting and report back to the CHDLT.
Plan for Merging Center For Family Studies with CHDLT:
Hennon distributed a plan proposed in conjunction with Bergen for CFS merger with CHDLT. Hennon explained that the plan includes adding a Family Supports component to the CHDLT. Members will read the proposal to be discussed at the next meeting.
