Approval of Minutes
Tentative day and time for next semester's meetings were discussed.
Motion was made to approve minutes. (Bergen, Wolfe), passed unanimously.
Updates on Funded Projects:
Wolfe indicated that he has completed 2 experiments with 100 participants for his argumentation project. Data also continues to be collected at the collaborating institution, Northern Illinois University.
Wang explained that teacher workshops are being successfully conducted for the iDiscovery project (An evaluation of a science and math teacher training program).
New Projects:
Constantinidou indicated that she is requesting renewal through the James Monroe Foundation for an existing project. The grant would allow for the continuation of a study involving brain injury and cognitive evaluation.
New Grant Information:
Discussion was held about the possibility of a Center proposal for a U.S. Department of Education preschool curriculum evaluation grant.
Bergen confirmed that Alan Berger will lead a proposal for a U.S. Department of Education reading comprehension grant.
Bergen added that C. Shore will lead a proposal for a U.S. Department of Education cognition grant.
Other Updates:
Bergen announced that the current indirect cost recovery for the center is $2649. In addition, Bergen indicated that she and Janet Butler-Kayle were recommended to be part of a collaborative center conference.
Board asked Bergen to check with the department about sharing the copier bill.
The next meeting will be in February after a date has been set.
