Training Session for Career Fair
Career Advising
Career Advisors are available to assist students with:
- exploring careers
- making occupational choices
- creating customized job- or internship-search plans
Topics of discussion include:
- resume critiques
- interview skills
- graduate school selection
- job-search advice
Advising appointments are 45 minutes in length and may be made by calling 529-3831. Walk-in career advising is available during the academic year for brief 10-minute appointments at specific times each week. Click here for current walk-in hours. Mock Interview Service
One-hour mock interviews can be arranged by calling 529-3831. These practice interviews are digitally recorded and critiqued by a trained interviewer. Students desiring to keep a copy of the mock interview for personal review will be provided a DVD or a CD at their request. Please note DVDs are not formatted for the common DVD players but can instead be viewed using either Windows Media Player or the Quicktime Player on Windows PCs or Macs, respectively.
Preparation
- Students should dress and groom just as they would for a regular interview
- Students should bring a resume (or a Candidate Data Sheet) to the interview
- Be prepared to inform the interviewer of the field that is being pursued
TIP: To make the most of the experience, students should read our guide on Interviewing prior to the mock interview and/or attend one of our Interviewing Techniques workshops.
