Career Services has dicontinued its confidential credential file service. Existing files will be purged after 6 years of inactivity.
Career Services recommends Interfolio — an intuitive, fast, and secure online service — to maintain their confidential credential files. An Interfolio account allows students/alumni to keep confidential letters, curriculum vitae, writing samples, evaluations, and transcripts.
Interfolio
Interfolio is an easy, affordable way for students/alumni to send application materials to graduate and professional schools, a prospective teacher to apply for a new position, or a PhD to send academic credentials to a search committee.
Interfolio's online system allows students/alumni to build an online portfolio — a complete file of credentials. Nearly any document can be stored, including, but not limited to:
- Confidential letters of recommendation
- Resumes
- Curriculum Vitae
- Statement(s) of Purpose
- Writing samples
- Dissertation abstracts
- Teaching Portfolio documents
- Supervising teacher evaluations
- Student & peer evaluations
- Transcripts
Benefits of using Interfolio
Easily build a portfolio of all your important documents. Ask writers for letters of recommendation or add non-confidential documents yourself. Up to 250 MB of storage is included. Interfolio will receive paper copies of your documents and scan them into your account.

Low Cost: One delivery for each application saves money, time, and frustration. It is more affordable to send a 30-page delivery through Interfolio than to use Kinko's or the U.S. Post Office.
Self managed files: With Interfolio students/alumni have control of their portfolios.
Lightning-Fast Delivery: Interfolio sends every delivery within one business day after request. If students/alumni need to meet a deadline, Interfolio can send express deliveries the same day (as long as it is requested by 2 p.m. EST).
24/7 access: Interfolio's web-based system allows students/alumni to manage their portfolios whenever and wherever they choose.
What You Need To Do
- Create an account with Interfolio (accounts cost $19 annually)
- File holders with existing Career Services files
- Send an e-mail to Career Services indicating you would like us to forward your letters to Interfolio (after you have already created your account); please be certain to include the following information: name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and Interfolio user name
- We will scan and send your documents within 3 business days
- New file holders can contact Interfolio with questions or visit the Interfolio help center.
