Faculty and Staff Rental Property
Miami University owns a limited number of homes and apartments in the Oxford area which are available as transitional housing for newly hired faculty or staff. Units are leased on a first-come, first served basis.
Leases are for one academic year, commencing on August 1, until June 15 of the following year. Tenants may request one additional year of occupancy. Requests for occupancy beyond the second year will not normally be approved. Tenants may vacate without penalty after March 31.
New tenants must provide a security deposit equivalent to one month’s rent and the rent due for the first calendar month, prorated as necessary. Rent is collected monthly through payroll deduction. Tenants wishing to keep pets in a unit must pay a $300 non-refundable fee prior to occupancy.
Effective August 1, 2008, all Miami University property will be smoke-free. Smoking will not be permitted in University-owned houses or yards.
