General Information
The Miami University ID card is for students, faculty, staff, and community members.
It is used for:

  • gaining access to dorms and many buildings on campus
  • purchases at several locations including, but not limited to, the Shriver Center Bookstore, Rec Center Pro Shop, Shriver Center Box Office, and Goggin Ice Arena
  • meal plan purchases on the Oxford campus
  • purchases at various food service locations on the Oxford campus as well as Hawk Haven at the Middletown campus
  • copiers and printers on the Oxford, Middletown, and Hamilton campuses
  • Gaskill Hall Print Center on the Oxford Campus
  • on-campus laundry facilities
  • vending on the Oxford and Middletown campuses
  • paying for the parking garage on the Oxford campus

MUlaa

  • Students must deposit money into their account to make purchases outside of their meal plan.
  • Community Members must deposit money into their account before their ID is activated for purchases.
  • Faculty and Staff must either deposit money into their account or be signed up for payroll deduction (spending caps may apply) before their ID is activated for purchases.

MUBucks (an off-campus service provider)

  • As an added bonus, students can use their ID for MUBucks purchases at a variety of Oxford businesses and the Miami University Bookstore, located on-campus in the Shriver Center.

Student ID Cards
Miami University ID cards are issued to incoming freshmen during Freshman Orientation, which takes place during June. Transfer students receive their cards during Transfer Student Orientation, which is scheduled immediately before the beginning of each term. New graduate students can visit the ID office in the Campus Avenue Building, room 119, or the Meal Plan Office in Shriver Center, room 111, to receive their ID Cards.

Faculty/Staff ID Cards
All employees are entitled to a Miami University ID Card. To obtain an ID card, bring your Personnel-issued card to Campus Avenue Building, room 119. Your picture will be taken, and you will be issued an ID card.

Community Member ID Cards
Community Member cards are issued to provide access to the Recreation Center. These cards are issued when a person joins the Recreation Center or enrolls in a fitness class. Community Member cards are created at the Recreation Sports Center Pro Shop.

Replacement Card Fee
Replacement ID cards are issued for a $25.00 fee. The fee may be charged to your student account. Cash, check or money order payments can be accepted at the Payment Center, Campus Avenue Building, room 101. A receipt from the Payment Center is then exchanged for a replacement ID card. Replacement ID cards may also be obtained at the Meal Plan Office in Shriver Center, room 111. Regular operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8am - 5pm. Summer hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.

If a Miami ID Card is lost or stolen, it should be reported immediately to the ID Office, Campus Avenue Building, room 119 , (513) 529.8700, or to the Meal Plan Office in Shriver Center, room 111, (513) 529.5000. During non-business hours the loss can be reported to any attended card reader station (any dining hall location).
