Professional Area Courses

When you specialize in medical and health sciences, you can gain essential background knowledge in chemistry, physics, and zoology through professional area courses in these departments.  This practical experience will give you a better understanding of topics related to the medical and health sciences, thus preparing you to interact with doctors, researchers, and other technical specialists.

Technical and scientific communication majors who wish to take their professional area courses in medical and health sciences must select 18 hours from the list in this section. Students who take hours in a professional area as a summer scholar may be able to count up to 6 of the 12 hours toward their specialty area.

Course Substitutions
Contact Professor Dennis Claussen, (529-3182, claussdl@muohio.edu) if you would like to ask about possible substitutions for any of these courses.
