Honors

Majors with a 3.5 GPA in their major may undertake a research project in consultation with an American studies advisor to receive departmental honors. Students sign up for AMS 480 and work one-on-one with an advisor to develop and present independent research related to a topic of their choice. AMS 480 can satisfy the AMS Topics requirement and the AMS Culture Focus requirement.
