How to Get There: Sample Syllabus and An Invitation to Discussion

This section presents an interdisciplinary course syllabus and invites readers to offer comments and suggestions, especially in terms of its interdisciplinarity: for example,

  • This syllabus aims to be self-conscious about how the course draws on multiple disciplinary perspectives. How might the syllabus/course design more effectively do so?
  • This syllabus aims to be self-conscious about how the course helps students to integrate multiple disciplinary perspectives. How might the syllabus/course design more effectively do so?

In general, respondents could comment on what seems to be working well so far as well as on what the instructor might consider next.

Feedback will be sent electronically to the syllabus author. Author will subsequently post a summary of comments received, and perhaps a revised syllabus.

Syllabus: Law and Literature, Carolyn Haynes, Miami University
