Job Description: The Interdisciplinary Studies Department at Coppin State University is seeking a Tenure-Track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The Interdisciplinary Studies Program offers a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies which necessitates a candidate completing 18 hours in two related disciplines in addition to the core general education classes. The program is designed to empower students to prepare for employment and graduate study by designing a major that focuses on areas of study that are most relevant to their professional objectives and scholastic interests.

The candidate for this position will have responsibilities in the undergraduate program and must be familiar with the academic flexibility necessary to advise students in the construction of such individualized programs. The candidate must be student-centered, innovative and willing to contribute to the growth of this department and the university.

Duties will include the following:
1. Teach in the undergraduate program (visit our Web site, www.coppin.edu, for a comprehensive overview of the department and its course offerings).
2. Responsibilities will be primarily related to the program development and research initiatives associated with enhancing the undergraduate program in interdisciplinary Studies.
3. Candidate will serve as academic advisor to students in the department and must become familiar with the core requirements of all departments for all major offerings across the university
4. Candidate must be able to provide service on departmental and university-wide committees.

Desired Qualifications:
1. Earned doctorate and familiarity with the concept of interdisciplinary studies.
2. Teaching experience at the undergraduate college/university level.
