Job Title: Associate/Full Professor

Job Description: Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania seeks an Associate/Full Professor in Interdisciplinary Studies for a tenure track appointment beginning August 2012 to direct and teach in the Ph.D. program in Human Development and to direct the newly created Center for Interdisciplinary Studies.

The free-standing Center for Interdisciplinary Studies is being developed to house the Ph.D. program in Human Development along with other undergraduate or graduate interdisciplinary programs. The Director of the Center reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and sits on the University Academic Council. Responsibilities include: developing and managing the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies; directing Ph.D. Program in Human Development; teaching and advising within the Doctoral Program; commitment to scholarly activity; and university, professional, and community service.

Required Qualifications: Qualified candidates will possess an earned doctorate in Interdisciplinary Studies, Human Development or a related field including but not limited to: Education, Health Promotion, or Social Work; experience in doctoral level education; a record of peer reviewed publications; management experience and the demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively across all constituencies of a university. Experience in interdisciplinary studies at both undergraduate and graduate level is preferred.
