KENT STATE UNIVERSITY (Ohio)
Master of Liberal Studies (LSM)
Program Path:
IDS Type: Departmentally Restricted IDS
Program Type: Foundational IDS Program
Description: The Master's Degree in Liberal Studies provides unique opportunities to study at the graduate level. Unlike most graduate programs that emphasize specialization, LSM students, under the guidance of the Director of the Liberal Studies program and a graduate faculty advisor, select courses from regular graduate offerings to form their own integrated courses of study. As an interdisciplinary degree, the LSM encourages a broad educational perspective. The Graduate Program in Liberal Studies provides an environment in which students gain perspective on a problem that interests or concerns them by drawing from several subject matter fields and by studying how knowledge gained in various disciplines is related. In addition, the University provides many cultural and research opportunities that advance learning and distinguish academic life at Kent. (From website.)
