Research & Partnerships
The School of Education, Health and Society addresses critical issues facing children, schools, and society through research and scholarship. Graduate students and undergrads alike have opportunities to participate with faculty in significant research and scholarship activities.
Here is a brief sampling of the efforts underway:
- Examining mental toughness in athletes and in business
Chronicling the impact of family poverty- Exploring how classroom controversies are handled worldwide
- Tracing the evolving role of the school principal
- Monitoring literacy intervention strategies for low income, mostly Hispanic students
- Improving how mathematics is taught
Our strong and growing partnerships with school districts and community agencies provide many opportunities to put research into practice. In fact, Miami is one of the few schools of education nationwide to have a Partnership Office.
EHS is home to several centers that provide research and outreach services.
