The Department:  The Department of Educational Leadership offers masters degrees in school leadership, curriculum and teacher leadership, and student affairs in higher education, with doctoral degrees in administration and curriculum and student affairs in higher education, and teaches courses in the undergraduate teacher preparation program.  The department has 20 FTE faculty, 11 graduate teaching associates, and 6 graduate assistants.  

Educational Leadership:  Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach graduate courses in educational leadership, including student affairs leadership, student development, or research; advise students; participate in program administration.  

Require:  ABD (for appointment as Instructor); Ph.D (for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor) in Higher Education/ Student Affairs or Education or a related field. 

Desire:   excellent teaching and advising skills; ability to contribute to program administration; relevant experience.

Kinesiology & Health:  Assistant Professor to teach exercise science courses including, but not limited to, Fitness Assessment and Exercise Prescription, Exercise Management of Chronic Diseases, Physiological & Biophysical Aspects of Human Activity, some laboratory instruction; undergraduate and graduate advising; produce sustainable and significant research; seek external grant funding; be professionally engaged; contribute to curriculum development and department service.   

Require:  Doctoral degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or related area by time of appointment; knowledge of or experience working in an Exercise Science laboratory; teaching ability in Exercise Science; knowledge of or experience working with multicultural populations. 

Desire:  Successful grant and external funding record; demonstrated promise of sustainable and significant research program; laboratory experiences; skills to incorporate technology in teaching; international experience/focus; previous university teaching.

Position Summary:  The Director of Clinical Experiences is a member of the administrative team in the Dean’s Office.  This person will provide administrative leadership and oversight of clinical and field experiences, domestic and international.

Director of Clinical Experiences to be responsible for coordinating clinical and field placements; developing evaluation tools for field and student teaching; presenting seminars to assist teacher candidates with state assessment;  carrying out international student teaching programs; assisting with the development of partnerships between the University, school districts, and agencies; actively participating on state and national field director forums; develop field and student teaching schedules; fostering workshops; working with chairs and faculty in setting up clinical and field experiences; hiring supervisors and providing training for supervisors; overseeing budget for the office;  and supervising support staff; other duties as assigned.

Require:  master’s degree in education or related field; extensive knowledge and experience in the P-12 environment.

Desire:  P-12 Administrative experience; higher education experience; strong communication and interpersonal skills.

School of Education, Health & Society (EHS) and Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies (AIMS):  Armstrong Professor in Digital Media.  An ideal candidate for this endowed, full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor must be a highly effective teacher; produce innovative and fundable scholarship that simultaneously reflects and advances the vision, mission, and national/international reputation of both EHS and AIMS; perform service to the institution which could include development of:  curricula, internship programs, or digital media programs. 

Require:  earned doctorate in a field of study represented in the departments of the School of Education, Health & Society (ABD applications accepted with completion by the date of appointment); established interest in interactive digital media in educational contexts with expertise in one or more of the following areas:  e-instruction (mobile, web, distance), social media pedagogy and theory, online content creation/critique, mixed-reality simulation environments, or gaming (games for change, game-based learning); knowledgeable about and responsive to the different ways technology has changed society; keen interpersonal and communication skills; a documented record of collaborative experiences. 

Desire:  The AIMS Professor is a critical linchpin in the EHS’s efforts to build interdisciplinary synergy among various technology initiatives.  Desirable candidates will be influential, inspirational, and collaborative, inviting faculty and students to think and act differently as teachers, researchers, and citizens and have knowledge of and experience with multicultural populations.  A successful candidate will be one who can work independently within EHS, AIMS, and as an ambassador to other constituencies.
