Thomas Misco is an Assistant Professor of Social Studies Education in the Department of Teacher Education and a member of the Adolescent and Young Adult teacher preparation team. His research efforts address controversial issues, moral education, and citizenship education in domestic and international contexts. His current projects include pre-service teacher perceptions of controversial issues, social studies instructional time, reverse chronological history instruction, and Holocaust education in post-communist countries. Professor Misco is a former high school social studies teacher and department chair (San Rafael, CA) who came to Miami in 2006.
