Department of Teacher
Education (EDT):
EDT administers undergraduate teacher licensure programs approved
by the Ohio Division of Teacher Education and Licensure. Each
program, when combined with a baccalaureate degree, makes
the candidate eligible for Provisional Ohio teaching licensure
in a selected teaching field. EDT offers majors and licensure
programs in Early Childhood Education (ages 3-8 and pre-kindergarten-grade
3), Middle Childhood Education (ages 8-14 and grades 4-9),
Adolescent to Young Adult Education (ages 12-21 and grades
7-12), and Foreign Language Education (ages 3-21 and grades
prekindergarten-12).
Department of Educational
Psychology (EDP):
EDP offers majors and licensure programs in Special Education
and a master’s degree and licensure program in School
Psychology. The Special Education programs include Mild/Moderate
Educational Needs, Moderate/Intensive Educational Needs, Early
Childhood Intervention Specialist, and Gifted Education.
Department of Educational
Leadership (EDL):
EDL offers masters and doctoral programs in College Student
Personnel, Curriculum and Teacher Leadership, and School Leadership
(also known as the Principal's Licensure). EDL offers degrees
in Master of Education, Master of Science, Doctor of Education
and Doctor of Philosophy. These programs prepare students
for leadership positions in elementary and secondary schools,
central office positions in curriculum, instruction and administration,
college teaching positions in administration and curriculum,
and student affairs positions in higher education.
Department of Kinesiology and Health (KNH):
KNH strives to preserve, create, evaluate and transmit knowledge
about practices in human health and the culture of physical
activity, with an emphasis upon understanding and enhancing
wellness and life quality. KNH offers majors in Athletic Training,
Dietetics, Exercise Science,Health Studies,
Health Education, Physical Education, and Sport Studies.
Department of Family
Studies and Social Work (FSW):
The FSW programs prepare you to work with children and families
across diverse populations. You're prepared for careers in
child care, family life education, social work, and health
services, as well as graduate programs. Opportunities for
field work and community service are integral to these programs.
The family studies major explores relationships across the
life cycle and the social work major studies the pursuit of
economic and social justice for populations at risk through
work with individuals, families, groups, and organizations.
