Dr. McMahon-Klosterman has taught at Miami University for many years in the area of Special Education. Her focus is in developing literacy skills in struggling readers and supporting inclusive classrooms. She also teaches courses in the new Disability Studies minor and in Women’s Studies. She encourages authentic praxis through activism.

Dr. McMahon-Klosterman is a trained mediator in Conflict Resolution and works with public schools to develop these critical thinking skills in children.
