The 9th annual Teacher Job Fair attracted 56 school districts with more than 300 Miami students attending. 

School districts from Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky as well as more distant states sent recruiters to Miami to talk about teaching opportunities in their districts.  

“We’re pleased that Miami’s teacher candidates are so highly thought of that districts as far away as Maryland, Georgia and North Carolina recruit here,” said Carine Feyten, dean of the School of Education and Allied Professions. 

Each year, about 400-450 teacher candidates graduate from Miami.  While about 80 percent begin their careers in Ohio, others accept teaching positions throughout the world. 

Next year’s Teacher Job Fair will be held April 2.  School districts interested in being represented should contact Gerald Yearwood, director of Miami’s Office of Career Services at 513-529-3831 or yearwogs@muohio.edu.
